Skin Cancer Treatment and Prevention

Skin cancer typically develops when the skin is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. However, this disease can also develop on areas of your skin that are not overly exposed to sunlight. Trust LindaSusan Marcus, MD to develop the most effective skin cancer treatment for you. Dr. Marcus uses the latest technology and our expertise to recognize suspicious moles or lesions on the body for early detection.

There are major types of skin cancer: actinic keracosis, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Here are some signs to look out for:

Melanoma - Melanoma most commonly appears on the lower legs or face but can develop on any part of the body. It tends to occur under fingernails, soles, toenails, or palms for those with darker skin tones.
  • Small lesions with irregular borders that look red, white, pink, blue, or blue-black
  • Dark lesions on your toes, palms, or soles
  • Large, brownish spots with darker speckles
